There was some on-chain activity this morning.

According to Arkham’s monitoring, between 6:54 and 7:00 AM, 8 consecutive WBTC transfers occurred in just 6 minutes. A total of 219.01 WBTC were moved, worth about $139 million at current prices.

How were the transfers made? Here’s the flow:

• 25.8 to address 0xdc87 ($2.179 million)
• 25.58 to 0x0CD9 ($2.1563 million)
• 23.88 from 0xCa3a to 0xecc8 ($2.0126 million)
• 25 to 0x9987 ($2.1073 million)
• 25.13 to 0xa654 ($2.1188 million)
• 60 from 0xCa3a to 0xb275 ($5.0563 million)
• 24.84 to 0x9E1b ($2.0959 million)
• 33.79 to 0x99D0 ($2.8484 million)

So far, there’s no sign that these funds have been deposited into exchanges. But this kind of activity—splitting into multiple transactions, dispersing to different addresses, all within a tight time frame—usually points to a few possibilities:

Either an institution is reallocating assets, splitting them up to reduce single-transaction risk; or it’s an OTC deal being processed, with large settlements broken into batches; or someone is intentionally complicating the money trail to evade on-chain tracking.

What’s worth watching next is whether some of these addresses eventually transfer funds to centralized platforms. After all, $139 million is no small sum, and their next moves could be even more interesting.
