After being outside for so many years, my "race" has been challenged many times. In Indonesia, Malays would ask me if I was Korean (there was a time when my hairstyle was very flowy)? In New York, I was asked why my English accent sounded strange and not like a Chinese person (later I realized my Singlish was too fluent)? In the South, I would be asked if I was from the North (sometimes when I get excited while speaking, I would have a Beijing accent)?

During check-in in Dubai this time, the hotel staff asked me if I was Italian? How could I look like an Italian...
