The reason for today's flash crash has finally been found. It's not because China is cracking down on Virtual Money; if that were the case, the crash would have happened over the weekend. It's also not because Powell is resigning; that's just a rumor. He will leave office in June next year, and a person as responsible and principled as him would not resign under pressure from Trump at this time. The reason is that the Bank of Japan is raising interest rates, with the announcement coming out around 7 AM, close to 8 AM. The Japanese/Yen and the crypto world immediately experienced a flash crash, perfectly timing with the announcement. Moreover, this is indeed a long-term Unfavourable Information, another pump for providing Liquidity to the market that is not waterproof but rather draining it. Now we have to hope that the U.S. puts pressure on Japan to make it stop.
