The Bitcoin premium index in the US market has turned positive. Has institutional capital’s attitude shifted?

Abstract generation in progress

[BlockBeats] There is a notable market signal on December 3: the Bitcoin premium index on a leading compliant US platform has turned positive, with the latest data showing 0.0331. Just yesterday, this figure was still -0.0087%.

This premium index is actually quite interesting—it measures the gap between the BTC price on major US platforms and the global average price. Simply put, it shows whether the US market is willing to pay more for Bitcoin.

When the index is positive (as it is now), it means the price is higher in the US. This usually implies a few things: strong buying demand, especially from institutions and compliant funds actively entering the market; ample US dollar liquidity; and an overall optimistic investment atmosphere.

Conversely, if the index turns negative, it indicates selling pressure in the US market, investors reducing their risk exposure, rising risk-aversion sentiment, or capital outflows.

So, this shift from negative to positive to some extent reflects a warming sentiment in the US market and possibly a subtle change in the attitude of institutional funds.

Premium index turns positive? The Americans want to buy in again, and the institutions' moves this time are quite interesting.

Hey, this wave of turning bullish is pretty intense. Institutions are really quietly entering the market.

Are institutions really entering the market? Then we need to keep a close watch. It was negative just yesterday, and now it’s turned positive—this shift is pretty fast. I’m not so sure about this ample dollar liquidity thing. Wait, does the premium index turning positive this time actually mean anything? Feels like these indicators are getting less and less reliable. The US side is starting to take over? Should we follow or exit?

Damn, the premium index turned positive overnight? Institutions are really getting on board now.

Oh, are US institutions finally starting to move their money? The speed of this turnaround is pretty intense. Going from negative to positive overnight—what does that mean? Either there’s really big money positioning itself, or the market sentiment is extremely fragile. No one can say for sure. Let’s wait and see if this can be sustained. Feels like this signal came a bit too fast.

As soon as the premium index turns positive, institutions jump in. This tactic is getting old. Let's see how much longer it can last.
