Don't remind me again today

At 21:15 tonight, the US November ADP employment data will be released, and this time its importance may be higher than ever.

Next week is the Federal Reserve's interest rate meeting, but here's the problem—the official nonfarm payroll and CPI data won't be available in time, meaning the market loses its two core reference points. At this critical juncture with an information gap, ADP has almost become the only clue to gauge the state of the job market.

My view is that ADP will be heavily magnified this time. It's not that it's particularly accurate (it's never been the most reliable employment indicator), but when key data are collectively absent, any small movement will be scrutinized by the market under a magnifying glass.

The Federal Reserve probably won't actually base its decision solely on ADP, but the market doesn't care about that—traders will price in expectations ahead of time, and sentiment will fluctuate in advance. So, rather than being a policy signal, tonight's number is more like fuel for short-term trading sentiment.

The data itself may not be significant, but the market's reaction is what truly deserves attention.

Well... ADP was never reliable to begin with, and now it’s supposed to be the savior? What a joke. --- With all the data missing, is the market just going to let ADP run wild? --- To put it bluntly, tonight is just an emotional trigger. Let's see how the traders play it. --- No NFP or CPI? That's really insane. Then ADP really does become the last lifeline. --- Nothing surprising about the amplification—when the market lacks information, any junk can get hyped. --- Waiting to see if things get crazy tonight. Feels like the market's about to go wild. --- Fed: I’m not listening, I’m not listening | Trader: I believe everything --- The key is the market reaction; the data itself is secondary. Interesting. --- That’s it? And we have to wait till tonight? I’m going to sleep first. --- Feels like tonight it’s either going to be massively red or massively green, nothing in between.

Alright, here we go again—when there’s a lack of data, everything becomes a signal. This time, ADP is probably going to get hyped to the moon.

Forget it. Instead of focusing on the data, it's better to watch the sentiment. After all, ADP isn't reliable anyway. The key is how traders are going to speculate.

As soon as this data comes out, there will definitely be a bloodbath. Anyway, since the non-farm payrolls are absent, the market needs an outlet to vent.
