SBF praises Trump’s pardon of former Honduran president while seeking clemency

Source: PortaldoBitcoin Original Title: SBF praises Trump’s pardon of former Honduran president while seeking clemency himself Original Link: The former FTX CEO, Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), resurfaced on social media last Sunday (30) to praise Donald Trump’s pardon of former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernández—an act he called “an act of justice.”

The statements came after a call was posted on X for The Roger Stone Show on 77WABC radio, announcing the participation of Hernández’s wife and daughters on the show.

“Roger Stone is right, Juan Orlando was framed,” SBF wrote in a post. “Few people deserve this pardon more than he does. He’s one of the kindest and most dedicated people I’ve ever met.”

Following this, the former CEO of the bankrupt crypto exchange stated he was “very happy” with the release of the former Honduran president.

The Roger Stone Show team had described Hernández as the target of false drug trafficking accusations and a beneficiary of Trump’s pardon.

Sam Bankman-Fried has been increasing his online presence while seeking clemency from the US president himself. Convicted in 2023 on multiple counts of fraud and conspiracy involving billions of dollars diverted from FTX, SBF is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence and is attempting to overturn the verdict in the US Court of Appeals.

Despite the campaign led by his parents, Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried, analysts consider SBF’s chances of obtaining a pardon unlikely—especially because he was one of Joe Biden’s biggest campaign donors in 2020, contributing $5.2 million to defeat Trump.

Even so, the former executive insists on defending his version of events, stating that FTX was solvent and that current administrators are withholding funds.

Recently, President Trump pardoned the former CEO of a major crypto exchange, and earlier this year, Ross Ulbricht, founder of Silk Road, after he had served 11 years of his life sentence.
