Don't remind me again today

BlackRock's Larry Fink and Rob Goldstein are calling it: tokenization might explode at internet-level speed—way quicker than the skeptics think. We're talking massive expansion over decades. But here's the reality check—traditional finance isn't getting wiped out overnight. The old system's sticking around for a while.

It should be pointed out that I heard the same rhetoric from Fink and his team as early as 2017; it's just been rebranded with the term "tokenization." On-chain data shows that traditional finance hasn't really gotten moving at all.

That's right, tokenization is definitely the way of the future, but these big shots are just talking without having to deal with the real difficulties... Who knows when it will actually be implemented.

To be honest, tokenization is bound to come sooner or later, but this talk of an "explosion in internet speed" is still a bit too optimistic... That iron wall of traditional finance won't be overturned in the short term; we'll have to wait.

It's already 2024 and they're still saying "it won't disappear overnight." Traditional finance is just an old relic stubbornly refusing to admit defeat—do they really think they can stop the tide?
