CEX becomes the first crypto CEX to obtain a global license under the regulatory framework of the Abu Dhabi Global Market, setting a new standard for crypto asset regulation.
On December 8, CEX announced that the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the capital of the UAE, has officially approved the licensing of the CEX global platform under its comprehensive regulatory framework. This first-of-its-kind global regulatory approval marks an important step in CEX’s commitment to building the world’s most trusted and compliant crypto asset ecosystem. The full regulatory review of the CEX global platform covers three independently regulated entities operating within ADGM. These three entities (an exchange, a clearing house, and a broker-dealer) each hold distinct regulatory permissions, conducting specified financial services under ADGM’s internationally recognized, top-tier regulatory framework. CEX has over 300 million registered users worldwide, with cumulative trading volume exceeding $125 trillion, and continues to lead the development of the crypto asset ecosystem by building secure, transparent, and fully compliant infrastructure. Richard Teng, Co-CEO of CEX, stated: “Achieving regulatory status under ADGM’s highly respected regulatory framework reflects our unwavering commitment to compliance, transparency, and user protection. ADGM is one of the world’s most respected financial regulators, and obtaining the FSRA license under its industry-leading framework means that CEX has reached the highest international standards in compliance, governance, risk management, and consumer protection.”
