A Chart Reveals the Decade of Rise, Fall, and Battle Between $BTC and $ETH

1. Difference in Volatility: Ethereum is Bitcoin's "Leverage"
Extreme Explosive Power: Ethereum has experienced a single quarter increase of +518.14% (Q1 2017), while Bitcoin's historical peak during the same period was +539.96% (Q1 2013).
Depth of Drawdown: During extreme market panic, ETH's drawdown is usually deeper. For example, in Q2 2022, Bitcoin fell by -56.2%, while Ethereum's decline was as high as -67.34%.

2. An "Unusual" Start in 2025
Bitcoin: Slight decline of only -11.82% in Q1, then quickly recovers in Q2 and Q3.
Ethereum: Experienced the second-worst Q1 (-45.41%) in history. Despite large rebounds in Q2 and Q3, Q4 is still undergoing a deep correction at -31.54%.

3. Median of Long-term Value
Bitcoin: Quarterly median returns range from +0.96% (Q3) to +47.73% (Q4), showing a stronger store of value.
Ethereum: Although the quarterly average is as high as +77.4% (Q1), the median is only +5.72%, indicating ETH's returns heavily depend on a few "blow-up moments."
