🇺🇸 In the United States, victims claim to have lost all their savings at a supermarket by using Bitcoin ATMs installed near the checkout counters.

A CNN investigation reveals that many employees describe customers being targeted by scammers and guided by phone to these machines.

Some employees attempted to intervene; one reportedly even begged a customer, telling her she was being scammed, but to no avail.
The store management is said to be fully aware of these abuses according to some employees.

Despite these repeated warnings, the machines remained in place. The partnership with the operator was not suspended; in fact, the contract was even renewed.

More than 150 scam cases related to these crypto vending machines present in Circle K stores have been recorded.

These machines belong to Bitcoin Depot, the largest crypto vending machine operator in the United States.

But don’t get the wrong target; cryptocurrency is not the core issue here. It’s social engineering and manipulation.
