Everyone, don't get lost in those bull run charts just yet. There is a knife sharper than any market fall being sharpened: the threat of Quantum Computing to Blockchain security.

This is not a case of a man worrying about nothing. The recent remarks from the founder of Cardano have exposed the most embarrassing truth in the entire industry—post-Quantum Computing cryptographic protection is not impossible, but the cost is so high that it is suffocating.

**How heart-wrenching is reality?**

To counter the quantum threat, existing cryptographic upgrade solutions would cut the Blockchain speed by nine-tenths and increase data volume by 10 times. In the words of industry insiders: "This is equivalent to forcibly wiping out a zero from your throughput number."

What are the consequences? The network is completely congested, Gas fees are skyrocketing, and ordinary validator node operators are withdrawing due to exploding costs. At that time, the "decentralization" we always speak of will be a mere formality. Can we afford this kind of security trade?

**The Life-and-Death Struggle of Two Paths**

If we have to insist on upgrading the protection, there are only two options in front of the industry:

One is the hash scheme explored by Ethereum - the idea is straightforward, tested over time, but its function is singular, only capable of providing signature protection.

The fake two types are the cryptographic routes promoted by Cardano - much more complex in structure, but with more comprehensive capabilities. Not only can it handle signatures, but it also covers data encryption. Another key point: it can run on ordinary graphics cards, without being restricted to those professional mining machines that might be monopolized by large capital. This could be one of the few choices we have to maintain the true decentralized ethos.

The road is still long, and the choice is imminent.

The matter of quantum cannot be delayed any longer; the grid cipher approach sounds much more reliable. The fact that the grid cipher can run on regular graphics cards is amazing; otherwise, it would be monopolized by large mining pools. A 90% reduction in speed is a bit frightening; how could we play back then? Decentralization essentially depends on node thresholds; if they're too high, it will fail. This wave of ADA seems to have made the right choice.

Quantum Computing this knife is really hanging over our heads, and we are still trading charts. The encryption is indeed much more reliable than hash, and the lifeline of decentralization relies on this thing. With a speed cut of 90% and Gas surging randomly, who still dares to be a Node? Not upgrading means death, upgrading is also death; this multiple-choice question is giving me a headache. Cardano finally spoke the truth in the industry this time, money is the biggest enemy.

Quantum Computing this matter, really can't wait any longer, the performance is about to be cut down by ten times. Cardano's statement this time is indeed correct, the encryption scheme does seem more reliable. The calculation of speed versus security needs to be carefully considered. Ordinary nodes really can't bear that cost, centralization will eventually come knocking.

Is Quantum Computing really here? It feels like it's too early, let's solve the current gas problem first.

Cardano is hyping again, is the password really that magical? Or is it just another overhyped solution...
