BRP Inc. (DOO, DOO.TO), the Canadian powersports and marine propulsion leader, has made a significant executive reshuffle, bringing in Denis Le Vot from Renault Group as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, with the transition set for February 1, 2026. Simultaneously, Pierre Beaudoin, the former chief of Bombardier Inc., will take the helm as Chair of the Board effective the same date.

The New Leadership Era

Le Vot’s appointment marks a strategic shift for BRP, leveraging decades of automotive sector expertise to navigate the powersports industry. With more than three decades at Renault Group, where he has held numerous executive positions including his 2021 role as Executive Vice President and CEO of the Dacia Brand, Le Vot brings a wealth of cross-industry experience. His automotive background is expected to address the overlapping market dynamics that characterize both the automotive and powersports sectors—a factor highlighted in the board’s decision-making process.

As a key part of his integration, Vot will serve as a member of BRP’s Board of Directors, providing direct strategic input alongside the existing executive team. Barbara Samardzich will continue in her position as Lead Independent Director, maintaining continuity in board oversight.

Transition and Legacy

José Boisjoli is stepping down after an impressive 36-year tenure with BRP, including 22 years leading the company as President and CEO. His departure marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in the company’s history. Boisjoli will relinquish both his CEO role and his position as Chair, paving the way for the new leadership structure.

Reinforced Board Governance

Pierre Beaudoin’s appointment as Chair complements Le Vot’s operational leadership. Beaudoin’s track record at Bombardier—where he progressed from joining in 1985 to serving as President and CEO from 2008 to 2015, before transitioning to Executive Chairman in 2015 and Chairman in 2017—brings proven governance experience to BRP’s board.

Strategic Momentum

The board emphasized confidence in Le Vot’s ability to execute BRP’s M28 strategic plan and accelerate long-term growth initiatives. The convergence of automotive industry dynamics with powersports market trends positions BRP to strengthen its standing as a leading global original equipment manufacturer in the powersports space.
