#DeFi社区信任危机 The false news release about Circle has just been exposed, which gives us an important reminder: in the DeFi ecosystem, information verification must be the first step.
Specifically, that press release impersonating Circle promoted a non-existent tokenized precious metals service, and even quoted the CEO's statements, but in reality, tokens like GLDC and SILC do not exist at all. This tactic is very common—using well-known projects as endorsements to create a false sense of trust and attract uninformed users to interact.
What does this mean for us crypto enthusiasts? Before engaging with any new project, develop these habits:
1. Visit the official website or GitHub directly, don’t rely solely on press releases
2. Confirm project updates in official communities (Discord, Telegram)
3. Check contract code and on-chain interaction records, as these cannot be faked
4. Be cautious of projects that "suddenly announce new features" without official statements
Airdrops are indeed a low-cost way to acquire tokens, but only if the project itself is genuine. A fake project, no matter how cheap the interaction, isn’t worth it because it could end up worthless. In an era of trust crises, spending five minutes verifying information can save you from future pitfalls.
