PANews March 3 Report: According to CCTV News, on March 2 local time, Amazon Web Services announced that three of its data centers in the Middle East were attacked by drones, causing serious service disruptions.
In a statement posted on its official website, the company said two attacks directly hit its data centers in the UAE, while a facility in Bahrain was affected by nearby drone explosions. The company did not specify who was responsible for the attacks. It stated, “These attacks caused structural damage, affected the power supply to our infrastructure, and in some cases triggered fire suppression systems, leading to additional water damage. We are working closely with local authorities and prioritizing employee safety during recovery.”
The company said the damage has impacted multiple Amazon services, and given the extent of physical destruction, recovery may take “a long time.”
