Standard Chartered Bank appoints former JPMorgan executive as Global Head of Payments

Deep Tide TechFlow News, on March 4th, according to Techinasia, Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Naveen Mallela as Head of Global Payments. Mallela will officially assume the position on May 4th, 2026. Mallela will be based in Singapore and report to Mahesh Kini, Head of Global Cash Management at Standard Chartered.

In his new role, Mallela will lead a global team that integrates payments, clearing, and settlement, responsible for designing and delivering solutions across the entire payment lifecycle, including traditional payments and emerging tokenized and on-chain payment processes.

Previously, Mallela served as Global Co-Head of Kinexys (formerly Onyx) at JPMorgan Chase, a division focused on real-time, 24/7 cross-border payments and digital asset settlement within JPMorgan’s licensed blockchain business.
