My childhood friend's family has been raising pigs in the rural Northeast since 2012, operating on a large scale. Then in 2019, they hit an unprecedented pig price surge.

They immediately bought houses and cars—not in the Northeast, but two properties in Chengdu and a Land Cruiser worth hundreds of thousands of yuan.

Everyone said their family was amazing, truly capable.

But these past few years, the business hasn't been doing well. They can't make much money anymore, so they shut down the pig farm last year.
