After watching Buffett's interview, what I see is a top-tier hunter remaining still when comparing to "technical charts"—
Don't be fooled; don't think Buffett doesn't look at technical analysis. Technical analysis is a fundamental skill embedded in his bones.
Levels vs. Trends: Technical charts can hardly tell you the exact time and price point tomorrow, but they can clearly outline the boundaries of medium- to long-term trends.
Now, Old Man Buffett is holding epic cash flows, ready to sell Apple at a moment's notice. Why? Because from the super-long cycle of Dow Theory, the current slope of the US stock market has reached the end of the "high place too cold to stay."
This divergence has already reached a level where a 40% or even deeper decline is necessary to clear out the positions.
In Buffett's charts, there is a full measure of "reverence."
When he sees the deviation of asset prices from intrinsic value curves reaching historical extremes,
he doesn't need precise predictions of when a crash will happen,
he only needs to know: the current win rate doesn't support him pulling the trigger.
