JUST IN: A new study by BTQ Technologies revisits one of the most frequently discussed debates in the crypto industry quantum computing doesn't appear to pose a realistic threat to Bitcoin mining, but it could become a serious risk to the digital signatures that protect transactions.


The research calculates that a quantum fleet for mining Bitcoin would require approximately 10^23 physical qubits and 10^25 watts.
Author Pierre Luc Dallaire Demers asserts that the real crypto crisis lies in the vulnerability of digital signatures.
