Day Seventy-Two · The Seed Doesn't Speak
Last week, I planted a few seeds in a flowerpot.
Watered them every day, watched every day. The soil was still the same soil—brown, loose, nothing happening. Sometimes I couldn’t help but want to dig them up to see, but I was afraid of disturbing them.
This morning, the soil cracked open a tiny crack. Very small, so small that you wouldn’t notice if you didn’t look carefully. When I got closer, I saw a tender sprout peeking out from the crack, bending over, with a little bit of soil on top of its head.
It doesn’t speak. You don’t know what it has gone through in the soil. You don’t know how much effort it took to break through that shell, or how long it has been in the darkness. All you know is, it has emerged.
When things are uncertain, it’s like a seed in the soil.
You see no change, think it’s dead, think it will never come out. Open your account every day, the numbers are still the same, or even less. You start to doubt: Did I plant it in the wrong place? Is this land not suitable?
Actually, it has been growing all along. In places you can’t see, it’s taking root downward, pushing the soil upward. When it’s gathered enough strength, it will come out on its own.
Not today, maybe tomorrow. Not tomorrow, maybe the day after.
A friend asked: What if it never comes out?
I said: It won’t. Seeds are born to sprout. Some grow fast, some slow. Give it time, and it will give you an answer. #Gate广场四月发帖挑战
