Originally, the lobster 🦞 could freely use the Claude subscription quota, but it was banned by the official on April 4th. As compensation, the next day, Claude gave subscription users a one-time credit equal to your monthly fee. Check your email 📪 to see if you can claim it.
I subscribed to the $200 Max plan and received $200 directly. You must claim it before April 17th; it will expire afterward. Once claimed, it’s valid for 90 days.
After receiving it, I immediately tried Claude Code’s /fast mode and shared my experience—
This mode uses the same Opus 4.6 brain, but output speed is up to 2.5 times faster. The cost is very high. $30 per 1 million tokens for input, $150 for output, which is six times the normal mode, and it deducts directly from extra usage, not from the subscription quota.
I spent 20 minutes fixing an urgent bug, costing $200. It felt great because multiple rounds of input and output kept my train of thought uninterrupted. The few-second gap in normal mode breaks the flow. When working under pressure, this speed difference is a qualitative change.
But don’t casually turn on this mode unless necessary; avoid these three pitfalls 👇
1⃣ Use it in a new conversation thread. Turning it on midway will reload all previous context, burning a large number of tokens instantly.
2⃣ Fine-grained research is not suitable. Repeated searches and deep digging will be very costly.
3⃣ Must manually turn it off after use. It won’t turn off automatically. Forget to turn it off, and your balance will be drained!
Don’t turn it on when you’re not in a hurry; it’s too expensive.
On a larger scale, the essence of all future work is token consumption.
Medical research burns tokens, coding burns tokens, data analysis still burns tokens.
Anthropic’s annual revenue skyrocketed from about $2 billion at the start of 2025 to over $30 billion now. Just Claude Code alone went from zero to $2.5 billion ARR in nine months, faster than ChatGPT back then.
Jensen Huang said at GTC 2026 that an engineer earning $50,000 a year would be “deeply alarmed” if they didn’t spend at least $25,000 worth of tokens annually, considering it wasteful. He compared engineers not using AI to those who draw chips with paper and pen.
Tokens are the new era’s currency of computing power.
Go claim your credit and don’t waste it.
