By 2026, 1 US dollar could be exchanged for 44.65 new lira.
Turkey carried out a currency reform in 2005, removing six zeros (1 new lira = 1,000,000 old lira).
If the currency reform had not taken place, in 2026, 1 US dollar would be exchanged for 44,650,000 old lira.
Converted, 1 new lira in 1990 is approximately equal to 386 US dollars.
Data shows that, whether calculated in new or old currency units, the lira has depreciated against the dollar by over 99.99%.
