"Google Quantum Computing's Impact on Ethereum Security" (Author: DengLian Community) Quantum algorithms have shown a substantial increase in attack efficiency against elliptic curves such as secp256k1. Although they are not yet capable of threatening hash functions themselves in the short term, they pose potential risks across multiple layers of Ethereum, including account signatures, administrator permissions, precompiled contracts, consensus signatures, and data availability. Accounts with exposed public keys and systems relying on BLS or KZG are especially vulnerable. Meanwhile, the post-quantum migration window has opened, but caution should still be exercised regarding NIST-recommended schemes, particularly lattice-based cryptography. Read more:
