Recently, I’ve been doing some account testing that requires virtual phone numbers for receiving codes. After encountering many pitfalls, I finally found a few reliable platforms. Some of the previously used code-receiving platforms either didn’t receive messages at all or had delays of half a day, which was a real waste of time. Later, I organized these few good ones and want to share them with everyone.
First, let’s talk about what a code-receiving platform is. Simply put, it’s a service that rents virtual numbers to receive verification codes, covering multiple countries, with pay-per-use or monthly subscription options. This not only protects privacy but also makes various tests more convenient.
People who have used SMS-Activate should be familiar; verification codes arrive very quickly, usually within 10 seconds, and it covers all major countries. 5SIM also offers a good experience, with a clean interface and clear API documentation. Testing registration on Google and Twitter showed no issues. Overall, these two are the most stable options.
For domestic applications, Super Cloud SMS and Little Bird Code are quite user-friendly. US number segments typically receive messages in 10-30 seconds, while Chinese segments are even faster, often within 5-20 seconds. Little Bird Code is quite detailed in domestic applications, allowing number selection based on business categories, offering good value for money.
When using code-receiving platforms, there are a few pitfalls to avoid. Shared numbers are easily flagged as risky, and sometimes target services will directly reject virtual number segments. My experience is to prepare several backup numbers so that if one fails, you can switch immediately, maximizing efficiency. Also, don’t just look at the price when choosing a platform; reputation and activity level are very important. Otherwise, you might waste time, and it’s better to spend a little more for reliability.
If it’s just for temporary use, any code-receiving platform that supports API is fine. But if you need to register for overseas websites frequently, it’s best to top up multiple numbers at once. Some platforms support one-click number switching, which is very practical. Overall, using code-receiving tools can indeed save effort; the key is choosing the right platform and using the right methods.
