As of April 14, 2026, Iran has not stopped uranium enrichment activities. The reality on the ground is that negotiations continue while fighting continues, and both sides are in a serious deadlock over the “pause duration.”
🚫 Current situation: Enrichment activities are still ongoing
Facility operation: Key nuclear facilities such as Natanz and Fordow are still carrying out uranium enrichment and have not proactively shut down because of the talks.
Verification blocked: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is still operating under restrictions in verifying key facilities, and cannot confirm the specific flow of highly enriched uranium.
💥 Negotiation deadlock: 5 years vs 20 years
In the Islamabad talks that just broke down, the two sides have a major disagreement over the duration of the “pause on uranium enrichment”:
Iran’s offer: Agree to pause uranium enrichment for up to 5 years at most, and highly enriched uranium must remain within the country (only a commitment to dilution).
U.S. demand: The pause must last 20 years, and highly enriched uranium must be shipped out of the country.
Outcome: U.S. President Trump has clearly rejected Iran’s 5-year proposal, and negotiations are currently stalled.
⚠️ Risk warning
Military pressure: The U.S. has announced a maritime blockade of Iranian ports, attempting to force Iran to make concessions on nuclear issues through military means.
Future outlook: If negotiations cannot be restarted and the differences bridged around April 16, the situation may escalate further.#Gate广场四月发帖挑战
