Cryptocurrency markets have indeed been sluggish lately. However, looking back over more than a decade, Bitcoin (BTC) is recorded as the fastest-growing asset in global market history, taking only 12 years to reach a market capitalization of US$1 trillion.

Not stopping there, Bitcoin also took about 15 years to surpass the US$2 trillion mark. This record makes it far ahead of major technology companies worldwide.

For comparison, Google took approximately 25 years to reach US$2 trillion, Amazon nearly 30 years, and NVIDIA over 30 years. Meanwhile, Apple and Microsoft even took more than 40 years to reach similar milestones.

Strive's Chief Risk Officer Jeff Walton mentioned that among the top 20 global assets, Bitcoin is the fastest to reach US$1 trillion and US$2 trillion. He emphasized that this achievement was made without conventional corporate structures like employees or a board of directors.

This phenomenon reinforces Bitcoin's position as a unique and disruptive digital asset in the modern era. Moving forward, this trend is predicted to continue as adoption and investor interest worldwide increase.

However, the current market volatility has caused Bitcoin's market capitalization to drop to US$1.49 trillion, according to CoinMarketCap, on Tuesday (14/04).
