Court Questions Trump's Lawsuit Against Treasury and IRS

On April 25, local time April 24, U.S. District Judge Katherine Williams raised concerns about the lawsuit filed by President Donald Trump against the Internal Revenue Service and the Treasury Department. Judge Williams pointed out that given Trump’s actual influence over both parties in the lawsuit, it is questionable whether the case presents a “genuine adversarial dispute.” She has requested the Department of Justice to submit a written explanation by May 20, clarifying how the court has jurisdiction to hear the case.
