Bitcoin Cash Rises Ahead of Upgrade to Launch Smart Contracts on Network
Bitcoin Cash (BCH) prices have increased by 6% in anticipation of a mainnet upgrade that will let developers issue tokens on the network, as well as other improvements.
The hard fork is scheduled for noon UTC on Monday and will bring added security, privacy, smaller transaction sizes, and smart contracts functionality to the Bitcoin Cash network. This follows the launch of Bitcoin Request for Comment (BRC20) tokens, which have spurred the creation of digital artwork and meme tokens on Bitcoin.
