Maybe the whole ‘midwit’ meme simply has to do with distributions:
Lots of 100-IQs, so fewer opportunities in crowded niches. Simultaneously, this crowd doesn’t suffer as much (typical 9-5, makes $70k, office job)
Meanwhile lower on the spectrum there are opportunities for blue collar work, trades. Jobs that are in demand because no one really wants to do them.
Up on the spectrum we have people with unique abilities and perspectives: entrepreneurs, other people who can truly create an ‘edge.’
Lower on the spectrum, the edge just comes from being sparsely populated.
