According to a document shared on the X platform by Eric Balciunas, a senior analyst at Bloomberg ETFs, PANews reported on March 13 that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) today ordered SkyBridge Capital's Bitcoin ETF, First Trust Skybridge Bitcoin ETF Trust, to announce an application for a "waiver." Balchunas said that the specific reason why the company did not re-enter the competition for BTC spot ETFs is unknown, and that if the ETF is launched, there could be a 15% increase in fund flows.
Based on this application, First Trust SkyBridge Viteoin ETF Trust has filed with the European Commission a registration statement for securities registered under Section 6(a) of the Securities Act 1933, which has not yet entered into force after more than nine months. The First Trust Skybridge Bitcoin ETF Trust will not respond to any notice under Section 479 that the registration statement will be abandoned unless promptly amended or withdrawn. In light of the above, you will be ordered to abandon the registration notification on March 12, 2024.
