Jack Dorsey's payments company, Block, has begun implementing a dollar average cost (DCA) program to increase its already sizable Bitcoin (BTC) reserves, according to Golden Finance. Block began buying additional Bitcoin with 10% of monthly Bitcoin-related gross profits in April and plans to do so every month for the rest of 2024. According to the Q1 earnings report, Block's Bitcoin gross profit was $80 million. If this level of profit continues into the second half of the year, then according to this plan, the company will add another $24 million worth of Bitcoin to its balance sheet. Block already holds a large amount of Bitcoin, buying 4,709 Bitcoin in October 2020 and another 3,318 Tokens in early 2021. At today's price of about $59,000, these Bitcoins are now worth about $4.7 billion.
