On January 10, Jinshi Data News, United Nations special envoy for the Yemen issue, Glenn Berry, urged the Houthi armed forces in Yemen to immediately and unconditionally release the personnel of the United Nations and other organizations detained by them. The office of the United Nations special envoy for the Yemen issue issued a statement on the 9th, saying that Glenn Berry ended his visit to the Yemeni capital Sana'a that day. During his visit, he discussed with Houthi armed officials the advancement of peace initiatives and ensuring the unconditional release of detained personnel. It is reported that since early June 2024, the Houthi armed forces have arrested more than 50 staff and rescue workers from the United Nations, international organizations, and civil institutions in Sana'a.
