The expected officially happened and the flagship case of cryptocurrencies, Ripple, concluded its battle at $2.44. Everyone had been talking about such a step coming by April, and finally, the official cancellation announcement was made. Ripple's Chief Legal Officer announced the terms.
Ripple Lawsuit is Over As of November 5, XRP Coin was already pricing today, and the price that rose above 3 dollars reached its peak early. Today, we only witnessed the announcement of the obvious. The ongoing struggle between the SEC and Ripple officially ended today after more than 4 years. The company's General Counsel Stuart Alderoty wrote the following;
"The latest update I should have regarding SEC v Ripple is...
Last week, the SEC agreed to unconditionally withdraw its appeal. @Ripple has now agreed to waive its cross-appeal. The SEC will hold $50 million of the $125 million fine in an interest-bearing escrow currently in cash, and the balance will be returned to Ripple. The agency will also request the Court to lift the previously imposed standard injunction at the SEC's request. All of this is subject to the Commission's vote, final document preparation, and regular court processes.
The billion-dollar penalty has been waived, the struggle for XRP Coin to be recognized as a security has ended, and there are no longer any concerns about lawsuits against XRP Coin. ( ) #Gate post Highlights #CryptoObservers #ContentStar
