Golden Finance reported that on June 19, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mujtaba Khamenei said in a written message to the Iranian people regarding the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding: As you know, a memorandum of understanding has been signed between Iran and the U.S. President. In the process of reaching this stage, officials made many efforts in good faith and with sincerity. Of course, the U.S. President also, out of desperation, used all kinds of means to bring this about. I personally initially had a different view, but given my respect for the Iranian President as the head of the Supreme National Security Council, and because he—on his own behalf and on behalf of other members—promised to safeguard the rights of the Iranian people and the Resistance Front, and clearly stated that he is willing to take responsibility for this, I ultimately approved. He also stated that if the U.S. side makes unreasonable demands, they will refuse. From this moment on, we will wait quietly for the implementation of the above conditions. However, it is obvious that future face-to-face negotiations do not mean accepting the enemy’s position.
