Google Unveils Revolutionary New Product! Are Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies in Danger?

Google yesterday introduced a new quantum chip that it claims can solve a problem which the current fastest supercomputers in the world could complete in 10 septillion years (10^25 years) in just 5 minutes.

According to Google, they have developed a new chip in the field of quantum computing and named it “Willow”.

It is stated that the chip will especially accelerate the development process of new drugs and can perform processes that take years in the experimental stage within minutes.

In her statement, Charina Chou, Director of Google Quantum AI, said, “We have been working on post-quantum encryption standards for years and collaborating with major companies and academics in this field.”

Is it Dangerous for Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies?

The question of what the big noise around Google’s Quantum chip means for Bitcoin and crypto security has come up.

It is mentioned that quantum computers can crack the encryption mechanisms in the security infrastructure of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, while Google’s move has raised security concerns for BTC and cryptos.

However, technology entrepreneur and former senior product manager at Google, Kevin Rose, stated that Willow is still far from being a threat to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

Approximately 13 million qubits of quantum computer capable of solving the encryption of Bitcoin within 24 hours are needed.

On the other hand, Google’s Willow chip is a significant development, consisting of 105 qubits.
