The CEO of the Big Cryptocurrency Company Revealed the Level at Which He Thinks the Bitcoin Price Will Rise in 2025

Sid Powell, co-founder and CEO of the decentralized finance platform Maple Finance, predicted that Bitcoin could reach a price range of $180,000 to $200,000 by the end of 2025.

Powell shared his views on various factors such as institutional adoption triggering the potential rise of Bitcoin and the expected impact of Bitcoin ETFs in an interview with CNBC’s Squawk Box Europe program.

Powell highlighted the similarities between the launch of Bitcoin ETFs and the previous launch of gold ETFs, which significantly increased their inflows in the early years.

The CEO said, “Historically, when we look at the launch of gold ETFs, we saw significant increases in inflows in the second year and beyond, and I think we may expect to see this with Bitcoin ETFs as well.” As Bitcoin becomes a fundamental asset for institutional asset managers, he believes that inflows will increase over time and support sustainable price increases.

Another important factor mentioned by Powell is the possibility of establishing a strategic reserve of Bitcoin in the United States. This development, although speculative, could serve as a significant impetus for institutional interest and adoption, and could further stabilize Bitcoin’s price trajectory.

Despite the prediction of an increase, Powell specifically mentioned the cyclical nature of Bitcoin.

Powell, who said “Cryptocurrency continues to be a cyclical sector,” referred to past market cycles where Bitcoin experienced sharp corrections after strong rallies.

For instance, Bitcoin rose to around $70,000 in 2021 due to the peak of interest in cryptocurrencies, but fell below $17,000 in 2022 following a series of major bankruptcies in the crypto sector.

However, Powell suggested that due to the balancing effect of institutional inflows, the excessive drops of 70-80% seen in past cycles are less likely in 2025.
