Algorand Targets Fully Quantum-Resistant Blockchain by End of 2027, 140K+ Post-Quantum Transactions Processed

According to Algorand Foundation, the network targets a fully quantum-resistant blockchain by the end of 2027, having already processed more than 140,000 post-quantum transactions since introducing Falcon-based cryptography in November 2025. Upcoming upgrades include native Falcon-1024 account support scheduled for Q3 2026, alongside post-quantum multi-signature functionality, enhanced wallet support for platforms like Pera and AlgoKit, and ongoing research into quantum-resistant solutions for validator selection and consensus mechanisms.
