Amazon India Operations Become Water Positive in 2026, Returns 22 Billion Liters Annually

According to Reuters, Amazon India operations became water positive in 2026 on June 19, a year ahead of schedule. The company reduced water use across its data centers, offices, and warehouses, and now returns more water to communities than it consumes. Its replenishment efforts are expected to return more than 22 billion liters of water each year to local communities. Amazon does not use water to cool its Indian data centers.
