Amkor Technology announced a $1.5 billion multi-year agreement with Nvidia on Friday, sending shares up more than 10% in extended trading to $73.30. The deal covers advanced semiconductor packaging and testing for artificial intelligence and accelerated computing platforms.

Nvidia will provide a $1.5 billion prepayment to fund Amkor's expansion of packaging and test operations at its Arizona campus to meet growing AI hardware demand. The arrangement includes coordinated technology development and long-term capacity planning, building on their existing supply relationship. Amkor CEO Kevin Engel said the agreement accelerates the company's roadmap to deliver "full turnkey advanced packaging and test solutions" while expanding U.S. capabilities for critical AI infrastructure.
