Bank of England Holds Interest Rates at 3.75% on Thursday; 2 of 9 Policymakers Back Hike

According to Candriam analyst Jamie Niven, the Bank of England's weak economic condition has reduced the urgency for interest rate increases to combat inflation. On Thursday, the BoE voted to keep rates unchanged at 3.75%, with two of nine policymakers supporting a hike.

Niven said: "If Middle East tensions do not escalate further, we expect the Bank of England to maintain rates at 3.75% for the remainder of 2026."
