BitMEX Token BMEX Crashes 92.3% to $0.005 After Exchange Announces September 23 Closure

According to BlockBeats, BMEX, the native token of the BitMEX trading platform, plunged 92.3% to $0.005 today (July 23) following the exchange's announcement to shut down on September 23. The token's market cap has fallen to just $480,000.

BitMEX has already revoked all staked BMEX tokens and returned them directly to holders' accounts. The exchange clarified that BMEX is a utility token only, not equity or a debt instrument, and carries no investment promise, refund obligation, or redemption guarantee. It functions solely for trading fee discounts and staking rewards on the platform.
