BlackRock, Fidelity Launch Bitcoin Security Consortium with $15M, 3-Year Commitment on July 23

According to the Bitcoin Security Consortium's official X announcement on July 23, nine major institutions including BlackRock, Fidelity Digital Assets, Coinbase, Blockstream, and Galaxy committed $15 million over three years to support Bitcoin protocol security research and development. The consortium, established to contribute to Bitcoin's long-term security and stability, identified quantum computing as its top priority, noting that large-scale quantum computers capable of threatening Bitcoin's cryptography do not yet exist and commercialization is years away.
