According to Foresight News, Blockstream CEO Adam Back and Strategy founder Michael Saylor recently spoke out against BIP 110, a Bitcoin improvement proposal to filter on-chain data through consensus-layer controls. Adam Back argued that the proposal contradicts Bitcoin's core attributes of decentralization and permissionlessness, stating that Bitcoin's technical consensus mechanism already serves as an effective immune system against unauthorized changes. Saylor added that BIP 110 escalates a spam-filtering debate into a consensus change that could invalidate certain transactions, warning that setting such a precedent poses the true risk.
