BNB Smart Chain Achieves 0.65-Second Transaction Finality, 70x Improvement From 2022

BNB-0.59%
According to BNB Chain Developers, on June 16, BNB Smart Chain achieved 0.65-second transaction finality, representing a 70-fold improvement from the approximately 45-second finality the network recorded in 2022. The advancement followed four years of successive protocol upgrades, with the most significant leap occurring through the Osaka/Mendel hard fork in April 2026, which implemented real-time vote aggregation. Transaction finality refers to the point when a blockchain transaction becomes permanent and irreversible; faster finality reduces chain reorganization risks and improves settlement speed for applications including decentralized finance protocols, payment systems, and cross-chain bridges.
