China Bans Entry for New Zealand Lawmakers After Taiwan Visit on June 4

According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning on June 4, China has imposed entry bans and other measures against New Zealand lawmakers who visited Taiwan despite Beijing's opposition. The officials violated the one-China principle and interfered in China's internal affairs, the ministry said. Beijing emphasized that respect for Chinese sovereignty and territorial integrity, and adherence to the one-China principle, are the political foundation of China-New Zealand relations.
