China Launches 17-Measure Plan to Drive AI Adoption Across Consumer Goods and Services

According to South China Morning Post, China's Ministry of Commerce and seven other ministries released a 17-measure plan on June 20 to expand artificial intelligence adoption across consumer goods, retail, and services. The plan supports AI phones, smart homes, autonomous vehicles, wearables, AI glasses, and robotics for care and household use, along with broader AI deployment in tourism, restaurants, education, e-commerce, and logistics. Support mechanisms include consumer-goods trade-in schemes for next-generation smart terminals, interest subsidies on personal consumption loans for AI purchases, and experience centers in malls and museums.
