CLARITY Act Passes Senate Banking Committee in 15-9 Bipartisan Vote, Heads to Full Floor

According to Senator Cynthia Lummis on June 8, the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act passed the Senate Banking Committee with a bipartisan 15-9 vote on June 7 and is advancing toward a full Senate floor vote. Lummis marked the milestone on X, stating: "The Clarity Act passed committee. The floor is next. We did not come this far to quit at the 5 yard line." The legislation would establish the CFTC's oversight of spot markets for digital commodities while allowing the SEC to retain authority over certain token offerings. Galaxy Research analyst Alex Thorn recently assessed passage odds in 2026 at 60%, citing a crowded legislative calendar and required procedural hurdles.
