curl Fixes 18 Security Vulnerabilities, One libcurl Flaw Existing for ~25 Years

According to PANews, curl fixed 18 security vulnerabilities on June 29, including authentication bypass, memory safety, and host verification issues. One libcurl vulnerability has existed for approximately 25 years.

The risks extend beyond the curl command-line tool to applications, SDKs, containers, firmware, gateways, and CI/CD environments that depend on libcurl. Immediate upgrades to curl and libcurl are recommended, along with audits for usage of outdated versions.
