Daewoo Engineering Accelerates Indonesia Expansion with SMR, LNG, and GW-Scale AI Data Center Plan

According to Yonhapinfomax, Daewoo Engineering accelerated its Indonesia strategy from July 7-11, proposing an integrated development model combining small modular reactors (SMRs), liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities, and gigawatt-scale AI data centers. Chairman Jung Won-joo met with Indonesian legislators and investment officials, including the deputy minister of investment and downstream operations, to discuss the comprehensive energy infrastructure and data center project.

The company also held discussions with Pandu Sjahrir Danantara, chief investment officer of Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund, on expanded collaboration in new city development and investment projects. Daewoo Engineering has operated in Indonesia since 1986, executing projects totaling $540 million.
