EU member states hold differing views on how and when to initiate negotiations with Russia. Some countries contend that conditions for serious talks with Moscow are not yet in place, even as UK, French, and German leaders met with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy on June 7 and issued a joint statement supporting direct Russia-Ukraine dialogue.
