According to BlockBeats, on July 24, the combined off-balance-sheet AI-related debt of Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Oracle reached $1.65 trillion, up approximately eight-fold from four years prior and exceeding their combined on-balance-sheet liabilities of $1.35 trillion. Under U.S. GAAP accounting standards, certain undelivered equipment purchases and unused data center leases are not required to be immediately included on balance sheets, with these future obligations typically disclosed only in financial footnotes.

According to Moody's data, the five companies have signed data center lease commitments totaling approximately $662 billion not yet reflected on their balance sheets, representing 113% of their adjusted combined debt. As these lease agreements take effect, over $500 billion in related liabilities may transfer to formal financial statements.
